STATiC

Hello!

Born in the mid 1970s, I grew up learning differently, long before my formal AuDHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphic diagnoses. Unable to read traditional sheet music, I learned harmony, frequency balance, and arrangement entirely by ear, touch, and instinct with developing an intuitive way to literally ‘see’ sound.

In 2003, my path led into the band Ours with Jimmy Gnecco, recording alongside legendary producers like Rick Rubin, Peter Katis, Tim Palmer, Henry Hirsch, and Jason Corsaro. While this entire time touring here in the United States and internationally!! Playing Wembley Arena was a major highlight for sure. In 2012, I got sober, which sharpened my focus, leading me to mentor youth with Road Recovery Foundation and to  support neurodivergent adults in recovery, while fully embracing my calling with guidance to serve a power greater than me.

Operating out of my base camp The NoiseRoom as well here at Brett Ensley Studios, I approach every project as a musical empath, treating a song as an existing wall of frequencies and sounds and listening deeply to carve out the exact parts it needs to truly breathe. And this is the same amount of detail, passion, and intentionality I put into teaching, coaching, and mentoring the next generation of musicians, recording artists and performers.

When you pull STATiC out of the studio, you’ll find him and his fiancée exploring nature, cute towns, or hanging out with our cats.

“ Every unconventional step brought me here.”
